The President of Georgia opened exhibition halls at renovated National Museum and National Gallery
The President of Georgia opened renovated National Gallery today, where he saw the graphical and pictorial paintings of painters belonging to different epoch and generation exhibited under the name - "Masterpieces of Georgian Painting". As he said Blue Gallery and Leisure Park come especially well together and he called it a gallery of world standards.
"This gallery was built from the very start practically. The second half is totally new. I saw famous museums all around the world - for example Prado in Madrid and others, but nothing can compare to Blue Gallery - neither in Europe nor those that are being constructed in wealthy Arabian countries. This gallery is built with special taste. It could be said that the gallery totally revived. My parents wouldn't let me come to this park that is located behind the gallery in my childhood and I am sure that none of the children would had been let to go there, because it was a nest of drug-abusers and dirtiness. Now we see this totally green big park that is illuminated during nighttime. If you cross the river, on the other side you will see Rike Park - central parks appeared in the center of Tbilisi. During soviet times such parks were called - cultural and leisure parks - that had to be out of the city. People could go there once in a while, rest and get back to their socialistic jobs. Leisure parks in Europe are mainly in the centers of cities. We never had it in Tbilisi, now we have. It is like this in Tbilisi and it is like this in other cities of Georgia. Tbilisi is becoming a normal city to live in all directions", the President of Georgia noted.
Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the society gathered at Gallery and noted that Georgia is a special country that has put its remarkable share in the world civilization. A he said our country continues to put great shares in the cultural treasure of modern epoch and creates many masterpieces.
The President of Georgia opened exhibition hall of "Archeological Treasure" at renovated National Museum - Georgian Museum named after Simon Janashia. Mikheil Saakashvili saw the historical archeological treasure that as the President said Georgian archeologists obtained after many years of hard work. The patterns of ancient culture, lifestyle and gold were among the exponents. The part of this unique cultural heritage was exhibited in leading museums of the world, where it deserved huge success.
