The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili celebrated Christmas in Ushguli. He attended the church service together with the local population at St. Lamaira Church. Archbishop of Mestia and Zemo Svaneti Ilarion fulfilled the liturgy of Christmas. The President of Georgia spent Christmas Eve together with those forty families that are not abandoning Mestia despite the hard meteorological conditions. Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated them and the whole Georgia on Christmas and wished the country and the population the protection of God.
