President Saakashvili meets with Minister of Education
President Mikheil Saakashvili got interested in the preparation process of the Unified National Examinations and met with the Minister of Education and Science, Kakha Lomaia.
Since the number of youngsters wishing to register exceeded the assumed number, the President ordered Mr. Lomaia to extend the registration deadline for 2-3 days.
The President said that the hullabaloo over the examination tests was completely irrelevant, since it was easy to make for a nine-year-old child. "If a nine years old child successfully makes the test, a 17 years old child should make it as well, but he has to know something for that. We should put an end to patronage, arranged exams and illiteracy in Georgia," the President said emphasizing that students from the conflict zones should study in Georgia, though the evaluation criteria should be the same for everyone.
