Mikheil Saakashvil met NATO Secretary General in New York. The conversation lasted 40 minutes. It was Andres Fogh Rasmussen's first meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili in this position. NATO Secretary General stated during the tte--tte meeting that Bucharest decision is still in force and Georgia and Ukraine will become NATO members by all means.

"All programs, that Georgia participates in is a step towards fulfillment of aim", stated Andres Fogh Rasmussen after the meeting was over.

"I had a very constructive meeting with the President of Georgia. We spoke about the necessity of deepening relations between Georgia and NATO. We are cooperating within the frames of NATO-Georgian Commission and hope that I will see more progress in relations between NATO and Georgia during my term on the position of the Secretary General", Rasmussen stated.
