Mikheil Saakashvili met with the Prime Minister of Hungary in Bucharest
The President of Georgia met with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban within the scope of his official visit to Romania. The sides assessed the ongoing political processes in the country. According to Orban’s statement, Georgia once again proved that it has a democratic governing course which is a crucial and important factor for the development of the country. The discussion also touched on the necessity of implementing joint projects within the scope of mutual cooperation.
“International observers stated that free and fair elections were held in Georgia. The procedures satisfied international standards and demands. In the end this was the choice of the Georgian people; how they want to continue their lives. They have chosen a very difficult road. They did not choose the economic policy, which was implemented by the previous government, which we thought was successful and right. Based on our assessment, this was the road that created a successful economy for the country. I would like to state once again that Hungary stands by the Georgian people and remains their loyal friend” – stated the Prime Minister of Hungary.
The Head of State is participating in the 21st Congress of the European People’s Party in Bucharest.
