President Saakashvili attends new customs office presentations at Georgian Azerbaijani border
President Mikheil Saakashvili visited a new customs office opened at Tsiteli Khidi, Georgian-Azerbaijani border. "We are building a Georgian state", President Saakashvili said, stressing that the process of rebuilding Georgia continues and opening of the new customs was one of its most vivid examples.
President Saakashvili said that the new customs office is set with modern equipments and meets European standards. The customs employees will have proper working conditions and receive high salaries that will promote the process of rooting out corruption and smuggling.
Mikheil Saakashvili raised a Georgian flag at the newly opened customs.
New customs at Georgian Azerbaijani border was opened with the assistance of the United States within the framework of the "Border control and law enforcement" program, which envisages opening more modern customs offices.
