The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a comment after Christmas liturgy
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a comment after Christmas liturgy at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity.
„The Patriarch spoke on two important issues - the one is that Georgia, the Georgian people want peace, but not at the expense of giving up of our territories - this is a very important, fundamental concept, which is a foundation of our national policy", noted the President of Georgia.
"And the second issue is that the Patriarch spoke about is the global economic crisis and its consequences on Georgia. There is economic crisis in the world and Georgia has difficulties related to this crisis. The global economic crisis has not yet entered into Georgia and we should spare no efforts to prevent its full-scale coming into Georgia. The top priority for the authorities is to secure energy supplies. Gas supply is cut to the entire Europe; but Georgia, unlike most of the European states, has managed to secure gas and electricity supplies", Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
