The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili went to the memorial of those who fell dead on April 9
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili went to the Rustaveli Avenua, to memorial of those who were killed on April 9 where His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II held service to memorize the souls of people who fell dead on April 9. The representatives of government and opposition attended the liturgy. The President of Georgia commented on the planned demonstration on the Rustaveli Avenue.
"We are democratic country and people have different opinions, but no matter how our positions and views may differ we have one motherland, we need unity for the sake of this motherland. We need to accomplish our struggle for eventual liberation of Georgia and for eventual establishment of a democratic, free, European state - something for which people have sacrificed themselves here under the Russian tanks on April 9 and for which our soldiers sacrificed themselves in August", stated the President of Georgia.
