President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili arrived in Mestia region. President saw the road construction and the other constructions, which are being built in Mestia with the aim of tourism development. After completing the construction in about a year and a half it will be possible to arrive in Mestia from Zugdidi and in two hours. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that the government has a plan of the tourism development in the mountains of Svaneti.

"For the last five years I come here and people tell me they want to have a road; its true we have started the construction, but I want to get excused that we couldn't do it earlier. What is most important 600 local population are employed in water system construction. We really have paradise in our country, which was torn off the rest of Georgia. This will be a concrete road that will connect the rest of Georgia with its paradise. Today it is the poorest place, though the richest people should live here", stated President.
