Mikheil Saakashvili and the Catholichos Patriarch of whole Georgia Ilia II opened a restored building of Gelati Academy in Kutaisi. In the result of Gelati Monastery Complex the Academy building now has all modern conditions to organize high standard meetings and trainings having scientific importance. As Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out rehabilitation work will continue in 2010. It is also envisaged to make the gate stronger and to continue restoring work as well King David's grave and bell-tower will also be restored.

"After Rose Revolution about 400 churches were restored in Georgia. I know that there are disputes regarding Bagrati Monastery. We will invite best specialists from abroad in order to do everything well. If anyone aims not to restore Bagrati Monastery, I will do my best not to fulfill their aim. In two years Bagrati Monastery will be restored by professional standards", stated the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.
