The President of Georgia attended the inauguration of the President of San Jose Laura Chinchilla Miranda in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Besides the Presidents of South American countries, MikheilSaakashvili was the only President who was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The President of Georgia was invited onbusiness-lunch with the new President of Costa Rica, the Presidents of Guatemala and Honduras and with other state leaders.During the meetings the Presidents spoke in Spanish.

Recently, the President of Guatemala visited Moscow, where he was requested to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

For the purpose to establish diplomatic relations Georgian delegation held visit in the South American region as well. It is known that the Georgian embassies will be opened in Brazil and Mexico.
