The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili went to Poti and visited several facilities. In particular he attended the opening ceremony of the new building construction works of Wissol Group network of supermarket "Smarti" and got interested in the details of project. The representatives of local government and project authors gave Mikheil Saakashvili the detailed information.

The facility that has shape of a ship is located on three thousand sq. meters. Besides trade spots a movie theater will be located there as well intended on 150 visitors. The project envisages also organization of territory all around the trade center. 150 persons will be employed in the center that will open by 2012.  

Mikheil Saakashvili went through "Tegeta Motors" service center as well and noted that opening of such companies within the region will support employment of the local population. The President got interested with the number of employed people and the level of their qualification.

"Compare to all big European countries we have advantage of course if we will use our abilities in a right way. First of all there is a gap that we can take it, it is first of al our geography and secondly more liberal environment that makes it more flexible. Now the major thing is to bring investors in. We have much more perspective to develop. Other countries are on such level of development that it is harder for them to go forward. Here we can go forward in a fast way, of course if we work hard", the President of Georgia stated.

All 44 employees of represent the population of Poti and villages nearby the town. Their number will increase up to 70 in the nearest future; average income is 400 GEL.

Later Mikheil Saakashvili opened new Economic Zone of Registration. The President went through the facility and addressed the employees as well. In his speech he stressed his attention on new economic course and spoke about new regulations within the sphere of taxes and focused on those economic projects that is the main precondition of country's development. As Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out that the stimulation of business, modernization of tax system, simplification of passport control and innovations implemented in this direction provide more jobs and the entrepreneurs would have a chance to gather more national wealth.

The President spoke about the importance of Poti airport and noted that it will open this coming summer.
