The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili toured the construction of "The House of Adjarian Wine" in Keda

The President of Georgia and the Head of the Government of the Adjara Autonomous Republic toured the construction of "The House of Adjarian Wine" in Keda. Aside from the wine factory, the facility includes: "Chkhaveri" breed vineyard, several wine degustation halls, a wine-cellar and a restaurant.

"This is the best Georgian wine I have ever tasted. "Chkhaveri" will seriously compete with famous Georgian and European vine breeds. The fact that in spite of the recent Russian embargo, the export of our wines has increased is very interesting. For example, we used to export 1 million bottles of wine per year to Ukraine, but this year the number will reach 8 million and 10 million next year. The same will happen regarding the exports to Belarus and many other countries" - stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

The construction of the facility began in September of last year and it will finish before the beginning of vintage, in approximately one month. "The House of Adjarian Wine" will produce "Chkhaveri," "Tsolikauri," and "Tskriala" wines by means of Georgian and European technologies. It will produce 100,000 bottles per year.

There will also be wine tours organized for tourists. They will be able to tour the vineyard, see a wine-cellar, a European production line, and take part in the process of pouring wine into bottles, as well as taste the newly-produced wine while enjoying local dishes.
