The President of Georgia laid a cornerstone at the construction of a new factory in Khashuri today and personally put a capsule in its foundation. Mikheil Saakashvili also familiarized himself with the construction works and spoke to the workers. As he noted, it is very important that the facility is being built, but employing people is more important. As Mikheil Saakashvili stated, the construction of the factory will end during his Presidential term. The President focused attention on planned and implemented projects in Khashuri while talking with the workers.

“One of the problems in Georgia is that there are too many old facades that are ruining the landscape catastrophically along the highway. We have to demolish such facades and build new facilities in their place. When people ask what I have done for Khashuri during my Presidency we can say that we have brought the autobahn to Khashuri, we are building internal roads, next year all schools in Khashuri will comply with international standards, we have built a new hospital and we will build a new very important facility. The construction of this facility will end during my Presidential term. Perhaps there is a lot more to do in Khashuri, but we have achieved this and we have begun many other projects that we will finish. The most important thing is employing people. Everyone who is working here will raise qualifications and if they do well here they can work on other constructions. We still have to build a lot in Georgia and that is why construction will not stop” - stated the President of Georgia.

The newest technology will be installed in the factory, which will provide a high quality competitive production. The construction of the factory will end in 18 months and 200 people will be employed at the construction.

The production of the factory will supply Georgian alcohol and non-alcohol drink producers, as well as producers of conserved products. The managers of the facility are planning to export the products and think that the export potential of the country will increase by 10 million GEL in the nearest future. The project is being implemented by a Georgian-Azeri company Inter Glass Georgia, and its investment is 30 million GEL.
