Acting president Nino Burjanadze today officially opened the Natakhtari-Aghaiani section of the Tbilisi-Sokhumi highway. The opening was attended by a presidential candidate Mikheil Saakashvili who had initiated the construction of the very highway.

"This project, that can be said to be a project of the century for our country and for our people, had been initiated by our government. I believe that this project will finish successfully. I also believe that the course that is very important for us and that aims to unite the country will continue. We will pursue this course with your support, with the right decisions taken by people that would become a basis and guarantee for tomorrow. I'm absolutely sure that this road will take us all to Sokhumi and we will unite our country," said acting president Nino Burjanadze.
