The President of Georgia hosted an American Senator Richard Lugar

 

 

The President of Georgia hosted an American Senator Richard Lugar at the Presidential Palace. The President took an American Senator on the tour of the Palace and spoke to him about the implemented and planned reforms in the country. The Head of State familiarized Richard Lugar with new projects and focused attention on reforms in the education sphere and innovative services of the Public Service Hall.

“This is the way our skills looked way back in January 2004 when I got elected. 1/3rd of schools' classrooms are like this. But by the end of the next year we also have MCC program to that account and then we will basically upgrade all of them to this level. We’re also opening  new Technology University in Batumi which will be the highest building in the Caucasus region and I think in Post Soviet space as well. We do one laptop of per child program and we have 10 thousand Americans invited to teach English in Georgian schools and from September we will have 3 thousand such teachers simultaneously in schools around the entire country.” – noted Mikheil Saakashvili while talking to an American Senator.
