Mikheil Saakashvili opened a Public Service Hall in Gori

The President of Georgia opened a new Public Service Hall in Gori which unifies over 300 services in one space. The new building was designed by a Georgian architect, Irakli Sharashidze. It was built in 7 months while employing 300 persons at the construction.

Later today, Mikheil Saakashvili toured the renovated old district which was reconstructed within the scope of the Gori rehabilitation project. The project renovated 35 facades and built second stories on most of the houses in the district where learning centers will be created. The Head of State attended an English lesson at one of such centers. The newly opened center has over 500 students. According to Mikheil Saakashvili, in parallel to the growth of Gori’s tourist potential, opening such centers is important because it will give employment opportunities to adolescents of the age of 15-16 before they choose a profession. While talking with the youth, the President focused attention on the infrastructural projects which will assist development of tourism.

While visiting Gori the President also visited the newly renovated local stadium, and attended the football match between Dila Gori and Metalurgi Rustavi. The reconstruction works will be finished by the end of the year and Gori will have a stadium of European standards.
