The President of Georgia attended the Christmas liturgy at the Sameba Cathedral
The President of Georgia attended the Christmas liturgy at the Sameba Cathedral today. The Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II held the holiday liturgy. Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated the parish gathered at the Sameba Cathedral on the brilliant holiday of Christmas.
“I would like to congratulate everyone on this holiday. I also had a chance to congratulate His Holiness on his birthday. I would like to wish for each one of us to meet every New Year with a better attitude and more optimism. I wish this year not to undermine everything we have been building during last several years. Let us not allow the demolition they are threatening us with, and I wish for Georgia to end an undesirable date with the past forever. We must be focused on the future. Christmas is the celebration for the future and a symbol of a new beginning. I want the past to let us go, and return us to the future. Georgia has serious challenges in the future. I am a realist and an optimist simultaneously. I think we will overcome every temporary obstacle and possible risk and continue development because our people deserve it! I once again congratulate all of our citizens on this brilliant holiday” – stated the President of Georgia after the liturgy at the Sameba Cathedral.
