The President of Georgia congratulated the population from Khulo on St. Andrew’s Day

The President of Georgia attended the holiday religious ceremony at the St. Mary Annunciation Church in Khulo, with the local parish. The Head of State congratulated the parish gathered at the church and Bishop Spiridon on St. Andrew’s Day. The Bishop blessed the President after the service and thanked him for the support he gives the Georgian Church, namely the Skhalta Diocese. According to his own statement, the construction of Churches in mountainous Adjara is going on with primary support of Mikheil Saakashvili. The bishop thanked the Head of State for restoring the infrastructure of Sacred University. This fact, according to the Bishop has stopped the process of migration of children and the youth from mountainous Adjara. “I want to bless our President of the greatest national affair” – noted the Bishop. According to him, it is important that the construction of one more new church in Khulo is going on with the support of the President.

In his turn, the Head of State also thanked the Bishop for the educational work he has been leading for years. “I want to thank you personally, for the great educational affair you have been leading. This is not just a religious education, but an education of national significance, because you are giving them very general knowledge and helping them in receiving the education that they will use later in life. You are also helping the village population to aquire skills needed in the village and we will of course assist you in every way we can. I once again thank you” – stated the President.

There will soon be the church of St. Andrew, Svimon Kananeli and Matata Apostle in Khulo. The construction of the church began two years ago and the cross was erected in its yard on the St. Andrew’s day.

It has been three years since the St. Tbel Abuseridze University began functioning by the initiative of the President, where a Russian Base in Khichauri once stood. There are now more than 500 students enrolled there.
