"Regardless of hardships the Kakhetians have always been conscious of the country's need and the importance of doing everything together to ensure stability and normal development. I would like to thank you for that," addressed Nino Burjanadze the people gathered in the Sagarejo theatre.

Social issues were the main subject of discussion at the meeting. Problems that the population faces and possible ways of their solution, employment, social aids, poverty reduction, government subsidy program, providing vouchers and its effectiveness had been discussed.

The infrastructure development in Sagarejo, the issue of gas supply and other measures that need to be undertaken were particularly stressed.

"The government is well aware of the problems you face and of what has to be solved. Lots of things have been done in the country, but we very well know, how much has to be done," said Nino Burjanadze at the meeting in Gurjaani.

Issues related to the development of winery, government's support to the peasantry and the importance of aid had been particularly underlined at the meeting. It had been noted that by the end of the New Year, the vine arrears will be covered and the Governor would personally take this under his control.

At the meeting the acting president said that the employment program in Gurjaani will start in April of the next year.

At the meeting with the Kakheti region residents Nino Burjanadze talked about the pardoning issue scheduled for Christmas. She said that a special group had been created for this purpose and that they were actively working on this issue.

While talking about the upcoming elections Nino Burjanadze stated that the government will make every effort to hold the transparent and fair elections. She called on people to actively participate in the elections, stressing that the country's future development depended on their correct choice.

Acting president Burjanadze also attended a concert in the open air in Gurjaani and addressed the public: "The Kakhetians have always known the value of labor. They have always known how to fight for Georgia's unity. As a rule, Kakheti would always encounter the first attack. Our ill-wishers could not break its unity. Together, we have done lots of things in the last years, although there are much many things to do. I'm confident that together we will continue the development for Georgia's unity with dignity, as our country deserves it. I wish you to live in a successful and bright Georgia".
