The President of Georgia visited the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan
The President of Georgia visited the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan within the scope of the official visit to Azerbaijan. The President of Georgia met with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan, Vasip Talibov. Deepening relations and future cooperation as well as implementation of joint projects were the main topics of discussion during the meeting.
Later today Mikheil Saakashvili visited the “Belisa” furniture factory similar to which the Azeri side will open in Adjara in a few days. The decision regarding this issue was made with Levan Varshalimidze’s effort under the previous government. Up to 150 local residents will be employed at the factory. Mikheil Saakashvili stated that several joint projects of Adjara and Nakhichevan are planned to be implemented including those aimed at providing care for children with asthma for which there are great local conditions.
The Head of State also toured the natural juices factory which is supplied with citrus products by the Kobuleti factory.
The Head of State also visited the Nakhichevan State University where 4 Georgian students have been studying on an exchange program for several months. Mikheil Saakashvili had a conversation with Georgian students and expressed interest in their study conditions. The student exchange program is functioning based on the agreement signed by Adjara and Nakhichevan.
Mikheil Saakshvili later visited the Heydar Alyiev Museum and honored his memory.
