Statement by the Press Speaker of the President of Georgia

The Press Speaker of the President of Georgia replied to the statement of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia related to the President’s open letter:

“Our only demand is to protect the constitution and hold a dialogue at the Parliament of Georgia. Dialogue means talks between the sides. The President wishes to speak himself and hear the opinions of the members of Parliament and arguments against those of his own. This is why it is strange to us, because if the President may not speak and if the Parliament does not wish to speak - how will the dialogue be held? Unfortunately, only one thing can be read behind the words of the Speaker of Parliament – no to dialogue. We hope that the Parliament will return to this issue and, in accordance with the constitution, let the President address the highest legislature of the country and our society” – stated Manana Manjgaladze.
