President Saakashvili positively evaluates MP by-elections results

President Mikheil Saakashvili described October 1 MP by-elections, held in the five constituencies of Georgia, as a huge success stressing that "the Georgian people always make right political decisions".

Normally low voter turnout is characteristic of by-elections all over the world, however, according to President Saakashvili high voter turnout participated at this elections.

President Saakashvili particularly raised concern about the results of the opposition parties saying, "the opposition had catastrophic results, which means that the opposition is very weak. This is not good since even every successful government needs a strong, constructive and responsible opposition parties".

President Saakashvili called success in the by-elections convincing and hope-giving. "Our people demonstrated that our government not only exists but becomes stronger and stronger and takes roots in the Georgian society," President Saakashvili said.
