President Mikheil Saakashvili on October 16 in Likani awarded the reservists of the 12th battalion of the National Guard with orders, bonuses and letters of thanks for the aid provided during the flood in Guria region.
President Saakashvili awarded the deputy governor of Guria region, Irakli Gorgadze, with an order of honor for the heroism when eliminating the disaster results. 

According to President Saakashvili the government has proved during the disaster that the country has a guardian - and it's the state itself.

The President said that in Lentekhi all the main roads and bridges have been restored, the compensations have been repaid, and the same would be done in Ozurgeti. "I would like to particularly emphasize the reservists' heroism. These people are the best part of the Georgian society. They have fully realized that the free choice is the key to restore the dignity of the country, which gives a human the sense and meaning of life," the President said.
