Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today inspected repair works on the Chuberi-Sakeni section of the road that connects Upper Abkhazia (the upper part of the Kodori Gorge) to Mestia District. He said that everything must be done so that the road can be used throughout the whole year. The president pointed out that his government planned to open a patriot youth camp in Upper Abkhazia this summer and that the repair works must be completed by then. 
Saakashvili also promised an additional 1m lari in funding for the project.
