The Press Speaker of the President of Georgia made a statement regarding the candidacy of Bidzina Ivanishvili for the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“It is our obligation to consistently protect the constitution of Georgia as well as the procedures laid out by the country’s current laws to assist Parliament to begin functioning after elections, and forming the government of Georgia. This is exactly why Bidzina Ivanishvili -the leader of the Georgian Dream Coalition, which has won the elections, was chosen for the post of Prime Minister based on article 80, point 2 of the Constitution of Georgia. Based on the same article, the chosen candidate has a 10 day time period to name the full government cabinet in order to present it to the newly elected parliament for a vote of confidence” – stated Manana Manjgaladze.
