The President of Georgia opened a new hospital in Kutaisi
The President of Georgia opened a new hospital in Kutaisi within the scope of the hospital sector development program. Mikheil Saakashvili toured the medical center and expressed interest in ultramodern technology while talking with on site medical personnel.
The Head of State also met with the population gathered around the hospital and addressed them while focusing on the affordability of healthcare. According to him, the idea of equality should first of all touch the healthcare sector and create equal conditions everywhere. Mikheil Saakashvili also mentioned the rehabilitation of Kutaisi and noted that the relocation of the Parliament to Kutaisi will assist development of not only Kutaisi, but the entire region. The President also spoke about the existing problems in the country and touched on the issue of employing the local residents.
“I know that the most important problem here is unemployment, but in order for a person to feel relief that person must have basic social protection. Children should be studying in good, heated schools with opportunities around…now jobs will initially appear in Kutaisi and this will spread to all the regions” – stated the President of Georgia.
The foster company of an insurance company “Aldagi BCI” - “My Family’s Clinic” invested 17 million GEL in building a 100 bed hospital. The multi-profile hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in the region, is equipped with the most modern technology and fully complies with international standards. Over 300 highly qualified specialists will provide all types of medical care for the patients. 150 persons including 100 local people were employed at the construction of the hospital.
