The President of Georgia expresses deep sorrow regarding the death of a Georgian soldier Sergeant Valerian Khujadze, in Afghanistan as a result of a wound by a handmade mine explosion.

Mikheil Saakashvili extends condolences to the family of Valerian Khujadze and sympathizes with his relatives and comrades in arms.

Sergeant Khujadze was serving in the 31^st Battalion in the province of Helmand, within the scope of the ISAF peacekeeping mission.
