Mikheil Saakashvili attended the presentation of a new Georgian armored transport vehicle “Lazika”
The President of Georgia attended the presentation of a new Georgian armored transport vehicle “Lazika” at the Vaziani military base. Mikheil Saakashvili personally participated in the testing of the new armored vehicle with the Minister of Defense. The Head of State noted that very few countries have the ability to produce armored technology with caterpillars and Georgia is one of them. The demonstration of technical and tactical characteristics of the new armored technology also took place today.
The Georgian fighting vehicle “Lazika” is armed with a remote control module and a fire control system. A 23 millimeter cannon and 7.62 millimeter machine gun are installed on the vehicle. It is possible to discover and identify a target in any meteorological conditions through the use of night and thermal vision cameras of the vehicle. The crew of “Lazika” consists of 3 persons and it can transport up to 7 infantrymen.
