Mikheil Saakashvili opened a library in Akhaltsikhe
The President of Georgia opened a library in the center of Akhaltsikhe where anyone can learn through books and the internet. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with the teenagers gathered at the library and noted that Georgia needs a well educated future generation.
“Most of the libraries in Georgia had either been closed or destroyed. This library is just like it should be. We really need libraries and educated children. That’s why opening libraries will be among the priorities of the government. Each library should be built through techniques that comply with modern standards, and also be attractive” – stated the President of Georgia.
More than 100,000 books are in the possession of the library that is equipped with ultramodern technologies. Some of the books are printed in different languages. The library is a part of the Akhaltsikhe rehabilitation plan which was initiated this summer. The plan also envisions developing infrastructure and constructing new buildings of Justice and Police.
