The President of Georgia evaluated the artworks of Tamar Kvesitadze at Venice Biennale

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Venice Biennale together with his wife Sandra Elizabeth Roelofs, where the artworks of Georgian sculptor Tamar Kvesitadze were exhibited in Georgian pavilion. Mikheil Saakashvili went through the exhibition and called Georgian sculptor a genius that brought fame to Georgia in whole world. Georgian artist worked on illumination theme, where she presented the face of one human. The emotions of this human change in different dimensions. As the author says this face is symbolic for every nation, figure reflects an earth and expresses breathing and heartbeat. One of the sculptures "Rotation" will be allocated in front of House of Justice in Batumi, another sculpture will be placed in Kutaisi in front of the Parliament building.

"If the modern epoch invents something and much has been done during last several years, one of the brightest the representatives of Georgian art, Georgian soul, Georgian talent is Tamar Kvesitadze. If you can call someone a genius - it is Tamar Kvesitadze. Sure I am very happy when painters applaud her even here. We have many talented artists in Georgia. As soon as I say this many will get angry, will envy Tamar Kvesitadze and start ready to eat her. Revelry and envy is characteristic to Georgians, but we must stop it, because no matter who will create something - we will only welcome them. Our state, with its modest resources will do everything to support art and its development. I know that Tamar Kvesitadze was almost killed recently because of her works by some people, who hadn't create anything during many years and if they were creating something in old time often it was an art fit those times. However it doesn't mean that there are many other talented people in Georgia that need support of the State. What is created by Tamriko - the monument that was raised in Batumi - "Ali and Nino" became a symbol of this city. We are going to open one more work of Tamar in Batumi this summer. An extremely interesting sculpture will be placed in Kutaisi, in front of the Parliament.

I think that this sculpture, which breathes must be placed in new building of Parliament in order for Parliamentarians to see it - faces illustrated on the sculpture say something - and the Parliamentarians must listen to people permanently. This sculpture must become a symbol of Parliament interior, in order for Parliament never to lose ability to listen to people's voice. Tamriko is very young and it is very important that she is a lady, because there were many men that were genius in the history. It is hundred times pleasant when a woman is a genius and sure it is a symbol of modern epoch. We had stepped in 21st century with the talent of a female and I thin this will become the major symbol of our epoch. The renaissance of art is important together with the construction of Georgian state. Successful Georgia started to create very important artworks after decades of success. Only 20 years had passed since our independence. Whatever Tamriko Kvesitadze creates sure will become the major symbol of this art".

Art fans gathered in Venice Biennale from all around the world. Among them were fans of Georgian art and poetry. One foreign guest told Mikheil Saakashvili Besiki's poem on Georgian language.
