Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today opened the Rcheuli Villa hotel in Batumi. The hotel belongs to the Rcheulishvili family. The average cost of a room will be 50 dollars per night. President Saakashvili said that he would his utmost to facilitate the building of simliar hotels and would assign special resort areas.

Saakashvili later attended the opening of a textile plant in Makhinjauri, near Batumi, where some 350 people will be employed. Clothing sewn at this factory is planned to be exported to Europe. The president expressed his thanks to the head of the government of the Ajaria Autonomous Republic, Levan Varshalomidze and the Turkish company Georgia Krasa, which invested in the project.

"It is a great achievement that 150 people have already set to work while the total number of employees will later rise to 350. The investments placed in this factory have been very significant, but no less significant is the contribution of our people. We Georgians are a very hard-working and qualified people. Recently, when we opened a pharmaceuticals plant, the investor told me that there was one woman in the plant who had finally returned to working in her profession after a 16-year break. He said that she was more valuable than all of the equipment and money which he had put into the facility. People's labour, qualifications and talents are of decisive importance," President Saakashvili said.
