The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili discussed with the Ministers the 50 day action plan
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili met the government members at the State Chancellery and together with them discussed the 50 day action plan, that is a part of the government program - "Georgia without poverty".
There are several priorities in the program, among them - the creation of new jobs, attraction of investments, restoration of agriculture and fulfillment of social projects.
"The new government has been working for few weeks already. New energy, new enthusiasm, new approaches are felt throughout these weeks. Most important is to make our citizens feel all these. In the result of this work the new government must overcome poverty. It takes a long time, but our actions in the nearest weeks must be felt by everyone. We have to start moving to our main aim" - Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
The President of Georgia gave final tasks and recommendations to the members of government. The members of government will have to report on the first results of accomplishing the program in 50 days to Mikheil Saakashvili.
The President of Georgia advised the government members to start active preparation for work that needs to be done in spring. In these days, when fuel prices are going up on world market - said Mikheil Saakashvili - the most important aim for Georgian government is to help the agricultural sector. In 50 days some specific projects need to be executed, for example the diesel program. The work in the village starts now and peasants need diesel fuel right now. The fuel prices at the world market have gone up. Our task is to give 20-liter of diesel, that we are speaking about, to the peasants, in order to give them a possibility to work on their plots. Everything should be planned precisely and in proactive way. We need to implement an exact schedule for all other issues as well.
I am very pleased that the Tax Department works much better now. On the one hand it's important that we make people get used to financial discipline. This will give us a chance to carry out our program by means of reducing taxes in future. On the other hand we must very carefully deal with the cases of violation of law, on the part of any business not paying taxes. We must not admit to stop the business or to put it under a ban. This is the worst that can happen. This problem is minimized these days" - stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
