The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is on his two-day-visit in Ankara. Mikheil Saakashvili is heading the Georgian delegation at Nabuko Summit. The delegations from about 30 countries are presented in Ankara today.

An intergovernmental agreement related to Nabuko project was signed in Turkey. Turkey and four EU countries - Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria and Romania, signed an agreement.

Erdoghan opened Nabuko Summit, then Mikheil Saakashvili made a speech.

"There has never been such an important project in this region. This is a very interesting experiment and a step forward.

Now there is a fight for Caspian natural gas, this is a fight for huge supply of gas existing in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The fact that we are here today proves that we express solidarity not only in the words, we have adopted many declarations", stated the President of Georgia.

In his speech the President spoke about the Russian aggression, which caused the Nabuko project to develop faster. "Last year's war and aggression against Georgia, as well as cutting off the gas for a number of European countries are very tightly connected issues. This was an expression of classical domination and aggressive separation. Gas has become the weapon of 21 century.

Tens of ballistic rockets were shot in the direction of oil and gas distribution network. Cutting off gas caused deep political processes in Europe. Last year the aggression, which started against the project couldn't reach its political aims but quite opposite results were shown.

The aim of this aggression was to frighten our neighboring nations and kill the aspiration towards freedom", stated the President of Georgia.
