The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended the beginning of construction of a new hotel in Batumi.
As he has mentioned the construction will end in two years. "We have already moved from those times when many unqualified, motiveless people lived here. We are moving to the stage when we will have luck of manpower", stated the President of Georgia.
He said that almost 10 thousand people will be employed on hotel constructions sector in Batumi only.
The hotel complex will be built on the former Metromsheni building place, right on the seashore. There will be 250 rooms on 23-story building.
This project is English investment and it costs 90 million Euros. English company "Rambol" executes the construction. The hotel will be ready for the exploitation in 2012.
"This is an extraordinary country and we must have everything exceptional. We started this construction, which will end in two years. It is done by German branch of a company that is among top five companies in Europe. It means that 300 our citizens will find jobs and they will learn how to work with their standards. We have moved forward from those times when we had great number of unemployed people", stated the President of Georgia.
