The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili held a Session of Security Council at the President's Palace.

Important issues connected with the security and cadre policy were discussed at the session. The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili officially presented Bacho Akhalaia on the post of the Minister of Defense. On this post Bacho Akhalaia replaced Vasil Sikharulidze. Vasil Sikharulidze was appointed on the post of the President's Advisor in International Affairs. As the President noted the task of the newly appointed Minister of Defense Bacho Akhalaia is to raise the level of military readiness of the Armed Forces to defend their country from aggressions. He said that the combat capabilities were improved lately, but he is not satisfied with the final results yet.
