The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Zugdidi and participated in the event dedicated to the completion of the construction of natural gas unit. The Minister of Energy Aleksandre Khetaguri, CEO of LLC "Socar Georgia" Amair Mamedov and the Director of "Super Georgia Gas" Anak Mamedov attended the opening ceremony together with the President. Mikheil Saakashvili symbolically lit the gas stove together with the Minister of Energy in Samegrelo-Zugdidi. Later the President visited the Gulias' family. Mikheil Saakashvili met the population living in Lazi street and listened to their problems. He paid special attention to the development of tourism business in Samegrelo. He added that in the nearest future new factories will open in the region and this will help the problem of the employment. This way poverty will be defeated.

"It was important to bring natural gas here. The construction of several factories is planned as well as the development of tourism and once and forever poverty will leave this place. We must create conditions for the local population", stated the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.
