The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a speech at Royal Institute of International Affairs in London
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a speech at Royal Institute of International Affairs in London. As he stated with the help of French equipment Russia will be able to occupy any East-European country and he called on France not to sell Mistral-class warship to Russia.
As Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out the appearance of warship like that in the Black Sea will make the situation tenser and will generate new conflicts. In his opinion, by their actions, official Paris creates a threat to the stability of the Caucasian region. "The prospective sale of the French military warship to Russia is very unexpected and risky. Selling armored vehicles represent a ten times more serious problem", Mikheil Saakashvili noted.
As the President of Georgia said the above-mentioned deal is rather strange and very risky and it may pose a great threat to Mistral and NATO major forces to be directly opposed to each other.
Mikheil Saakashvili stated that the French warship might give a chance to Kremlin to intrude into any Eastern European country in several hours. The President of Georgia is planning to meet his French counterpart Nicola Sarkozy and seek urgent talks with him about the above-mentioned deal.
