Mikheil Saakashvili received a famous chess-player and one of the leaders of the Russian opposition Gary Kasparov at the President's Palace. The President of Georgia during his discussion with the guest pointed out that he reads his every article. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that what Gary Kasparov and his supporters do equals to civil heroism.

"I want to express my delight because of your civil brevity, which I would call heroism. A person can be brave and at the same time think intellectually. I take great interest in reading each of your articles. Only you could transform from a chess-player's mentality into general political mentality. What you are doing now is very important because it changes the peoples' lives", stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

Gary Kasparov pointed out that the way of reaching results in politics is not clear and concrete and differs from chessboard. "Your are right, the result in this case is more important and this is why I am in politics", Gary Kasparov noted.
