President Saakashvili to visit Poland

On 10 May Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will travel to Poland to attend a summit devoted to energy security issues in Warsaw.

During the visit Saakashvili will hold a face-to-face meeting with Polish President Lech Kaczynski. Later, he will attend the unveiling ceremony of a memorial dedicated to Georgian officers who fought in the Polish army during the Warsaw Uprising.

Saakashvili will also unveil a plaque marking the site of the embassy of the Democratic Republic of Georgia in Poland in 1920-21. Afterwards, a festive reception will be held at Belweder Palace to mark Georgia's Independence Day and the 86th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Poland.

The energy summit will begin on 11-12 May and later a joint news conference will be held at Jagiellonian University.

On 12 May President Saakashvili will return to Georgia.
