The President of Georgia had a telephone conversation with the newly elected Prime Minister of Great Britain
The Spokesperson for the President of Georgia Manana Manjgalade held a briefing and stated that Mikheil Saakashvili spoke on the telephone with the newly elected Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron.
"First of all, Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated David Cameron on the victory in the elections. The President of Georgia recalled those tough days of August 2008 and pointed out that David Cameron was one of the first politicians who arrived in Georgia to support us. He permanently put the issue on Georgia in the agenda in Legislative Body of Great Britain. On his part the British Prime Minister underlined his support in the territorial integrity of Georgia and about the Russian occupation. The new leader of the British government expressed his wish to hold a bilateral meeting in the nearest future", Manana Manjgaladze stated.
