The Spokesperson for the President of Georgia held a briefing
"Many world leaders congratulated the President of Georgia on the Independence Day. Among the letters there are congratulations from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, kind wishes from President Sarkozy, a message from the President of Kazakhstan and a card from the President of the United States Barack Obama", the Spokesperson noted. She added that the leaders of Switzerland, Mexico, Peru, Japan, Greece, Korea and Azerbaijan sent their congratulations as well. The Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton congratulated Georgia on the day of its independency as well.
Manana Manjgaladze noted that this is not a full list.
"The President of the United States underlined the fact that Georgia's government secures those ideals on which the statehood of Georgia was based and was violently terminated in 1921", the Spokesperson stated.
