The Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia commented on the attitude of the Prime Minister expressed during the Head of State’s address at a reception on an American warship, the USS Bulkeley, in Batumi. As Andro Barnovi stated, it is shameful for a Prime Minister to laugh when a President is talking about fallen heroes.

“I would like to express a big outrage regarding a shameful action of the Prime Minister while standing behind the President and laughing at a time when the Head of State was talking about fallen heroes. I would like to address our society, our political spectrum and I want everyone to realize how shameful of a situation we are putting ourselves in. I think it is our mutual obligation to escape the swamp we are currently in. Such actions are always unacceptable and they always ruin our dignity, the blood we have spilled for the independence of our country, and the protection of its freedom. This is an impossible situation and it is incredible to tolerate it. I call on our society to raise its voice against the cynical attitude which the Prime Minister has shown regarding our fallen heroes, our independence and the fight for our freedom. I was also heartbroken that the Speaker of our Parliament did not have enough political objectivity to make a relevant assessment during his address. Despite this, he didn’t mention the Prime Ministers shameful action and focused attention on the apparently inadequate address of the President. The President was talking about the fight for our independence and freedom…I don’t know what moves these people, what ideals they are serving and moreover, what they want in politics” – stated Head of the Administration.
