The President of Georgia met with the chairman of the Law and Justice Polish political party and former Prime Minister of Poland, Jaroslaw Jaczynski. Deepening cooperation between the two countries and future relations were the main topics of discussion. The discussion also touched on the process of Georgia’s integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures. Jaroslaw Kaczysnki once again expressed full support of Georgia’s integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures and wished the country success in this sense. The sides also focused attention on the ongoing events in the country and spoke about importance of continuing democratic reforms.
Mikheil Saakashvili once again expressed sorrow regarding the death of Lech Kaczynski and noted that Georgia has lost a trustworthy friend and strong support on the international arena. The Head of State recalled Lech Kaczynski’s support in the toughest moments, and thanked the Polish people for supporting the Georgian nation.
At the end of discussion Jaroslaw Kaczynski once again expressed support for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
Representatives of the Polish delegation and the Georgian parliamentary minority also attended the meeting.
