The President of Georgia made a statement regarding relocation of the occupation line

The President of Georgia assessed the relocation of the Shida Kartli occupation line as a weighed, deliberate, provocation and spoke about its meaning. The Head of State once again offered the Government of Georgia cooperation and sharing of experience of the previous Government regarding security issues. According to him, National Security Council sessions must continue.

As Mikheil Saakashvili noted, he is not blaming the new government in the occurred situation. The Head of State thinks that the position and opposition must both overview the internal politics of the country, so that Georgia does not end up in international isolation. Mikheil Saakashvili stated that Russia is creating a new provocation and the Government of Georgia is becoming its victim. According to him, Russia has a problem with any government of Georgia and tests its integrity.

The President focused attention on the necessity of official visits abroad, and called on the Prime Minister and the Government to hold negotiations with leaders of supporter countries regarding Georgia’s security and long term prospects.
