Mikheil Saakashvili attended the Georgian Modern Architecture Exhibition in Strasbourg

Mikheil Saakashvili attended the Georgian Modern Architecture Exhibition which is held within the scope of Georgian Days in Strasbourg. Bishop Grigol and the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, Jean-Claude Mignon attended the meeting along with the President of Georgia.

Photos of newly restored ancient churches such as Bagrati and Poti St. Mary Cathedral and samples of modern architectural buildings in Georgia implemented in the recent years were exhibited at the Council of Europe building in Strasbourg. Mikheil Saakashvili once again drew attention to the importance of rehabilitation in the country after viewing the photos. According to him it is unacceptable to stop the initiated projects, the tendency for which is noticeable today. The President made a comment regarding the firing of Nika Vacheishvili, and added that such facts show the desire to stop the rehabilitation process in the country and disregard for professionalism. The President also spoke in detail about importance of restoring historic monuments and worldwide propaganda in this sense. He also added that the samples of Old Tbilisi were shown during the exhibition in Strasbourg in December excluding the modern architecture samples.
