The President of Georgia held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Hungary

The President of Georgia hosted the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, today. An official hosting ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace. The national anthems of the two countries were performed after which the sides introduced government delegations to each other. After the official ceremony, Mikheil Saakashvili and Viktor Orban held a bilateral meeting. The Prime Minister of Hungary expressed full support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, and stressed the importance of the democratic reforms implemented in the country in the recent years.

The sides discussed cooperation prospects between the two countries. The Hungarian side expressed a desire to implement joint projects in the agricultural sphere. A cooperation memorandum between the Georgian and Hungarian Ministries of Agriculture was signed later.

The President of Georgia took the Hungarian Prime Minister on the tour of the newly opened Tbilisi Public Service Hal,l and informed him about its services. Viktor Orban used the services of Just Café, and he was symbolically given a passport of a Georgian citizen.

Viktor Orban decorated the memorial of heroes, fallen in the fight for Georgia’s unity, with flowers. He is scheduled to meet with his Georgian counterpart Vano Merabishvili, and also hold negotiations with the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Davit Bakradze.

The Prime Minister of Hungary will participate in the opening ceremony of the David the Builder Kutaisi International Airport.

Viktor Orban has arrived in Georgia on a two day official visit. He is scheduled to leave the country later, on September 27.
