The President of Georgia toured the reconstruction site of the Vani Museum

The President of Georgia visited Vani today, where he inspected reconstruction works of the Archaeology Museum named after Otar Lortkipanidze. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the importance of the new center and noted that it will help solve the problems of employment and assist development of tourism.

The Vani museum will have new exhibition space and labs equipped with modern technology as a result of the reconstruction. A museum shop and a café will also be created there. Additionally, the rights of persons with disabilities will be protected and special elevators installed for them.

The German project company “Ellis Williams Architects” worked on the conception of the new design for the museum along with Georgian architects. The project is worth 5 million USD and it was designed in accordance with international standards.

The center will be fully reconstructed by the end of May 2013.
