The President of Georgia hosted Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and Poland in his Kvareli home. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to Carl Bildt and Radoslaw Skikorski about Georgian traditions. They symbolically participated in vintage with the President and personally pressed grapes. The President later let the Foreign Ministers taste the Georgian bread.
“One of our political forces is spending money around the entire world in order to undermine the quality of Georgian wine so that nobody has a desire to drink it. As if it is not enough that our neighbors were doing that. Now people like that have appeared inside the country…it seems like these people and us were born in different countries…I did not believe my ears when I heard them saying that Georgian wine is worthless” – noted the President of Georgia while talking to them.
The Head of State also hosted the Foreign Minister of Fiji in Kvareli. Mikheil Saakashvili shared the technology of making Georgian wine and Chacha with Inoke Kubuabola, and spoke to him about uniqueness of Georgia’s grape breeds. As Mikheil Saakashvili noted during the meeting, Georgian wine is as good as the best wines in the world such as Toscana and Sassicaia.
