The President of Georgia attended funerals of a SWAT team member Archil Chokheili, and a military doctor Vladimer Khvedelidze, killed during the special operation in Lapankuri. Vladimer Khvedelidze was awarded with the First Degree Order of Vakhtang Gorgasali following his death. Mikheil Saakashvili personally extended condolences to the families of the deceased and sympathized with their relatives.
The President arrived in Samtredia and the Galavani Village in the Mtskheta area with the Minister of Defense and other representatives of government.
